Godzilla Rampages Through Fortnite: How to Become and Defeat the King of the Monsters
Godzilla, the iconic kaiju, is stomping onto the Fortnite Battle Royale island, starting January 17, 2025. But this isn't just a cosmetic addition; one lucky player per match gets to become Godzilla! Here's how to seize control – and how to conquer the beast if you're not the chosen one.
Becoming Godzilla in Fortnite
The key to becoming Godzilla is finding and entering a randomly spawning rift. Only one rift appears per match, so it's a race against the clock (and 99 other players). Locate the rift, be the first to jump in, and unleash Godzilla's destructive power!
As Godzilla, you'll command three devastating abilities: a Roar to pinpoint nearby opponents, a Mighty Stomp Attack to send them flying, and a powerful Heat Ray to inflict significant damage. However, be warned: the entire lobby will be gunning for you.
Defeating Godzilla in Fortnite
If you're among the 99 players who didn't snag the rift, prepare for an epic battle! Epic Games has strategically placed Godzilla's weak points. Focus your fire on these vulnerable areas to trigger the drop of Godzilla Fragments, providing a 40 health boost and three dash charges – crucial for mobility during this intense encounter.
The Rail Gun, temporarily unvaulted for this event, is a powerful weapon to quickly inflict significant damage. High-rarity weapons are also highly effective. Remember, the player who inflicts the most damage on Godzilla earns the coveted Godzilla Medallion (with its own dash ability) and the exotic Burst Quad Launcher.
Even if you don't become Godzilla, defeating him is a rewarding challenge. The spoils are well worth the effort, and the bragging rights are undeniable.
Conquer or be Conquered
This Godzilla event adds a thrilling new dimension to Fortnite Chapter 6. Whether you aim to become the King of the Monsters or bring him down, prepare for an unforgettable gaming experience.
Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
