Farlight Games Unveils "Ace Trainer" in Soft Launch

Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, has a new contender in the mobile gaming arena: Ace Trainer. Currently soft-launched in select regions like South Korea and the US, this game blends several popular genres in an intriguing, if somewhat chaotic, manner.

Ace Trainer draws inspiration from the Pokémon franchise, featuring creature collection, training, and leveling. However, Farlight adds a unique twist, pitting these fantastical beings against zombie hordes in a tower defense style of gameplay. The game also incorporates pinball mechanics for resource gathering, adding another layer of complexity.

The game's eclectic mix of genres – PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball – is ambitious, to say the least. While its global release remains uncertain, the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight has high hopes for Ace Trainer's success.

The sheer number of mechanics incorporated into Ace Trainer raises questions about long-term playability. While individually popular, the combination might prove overwhelming or lead to a diluted experience. Only time will tell if this "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" approach pays off.
