Fake Baldur’s Gate 3 Mobile Port Appears on App Store

A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning for players. This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a fabricated mobile HUD, is free initially but demands a steep $29.99 monthly subscription fee. Crucially, there is no official mobile version of Baldur's Gate 3.

The app, titled "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" and developed by "Dmytro Turuk," lacks any mention of Larian Studios or the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, raising immediate red flags. While visually convincing to some, the absence of key details should alert users to its illegitimate nature.

Data Theft Concerns:

Beyond the deceptive pricing, the app's terms of service reveal a potential data harvesting scheme, indicating the collection of user IP addresses and other information. This underscores the severity of the scam, extending beyond financial loss to potential privacy violations.

This isn't the first instance of a Baldur's Gate 3 imposter appearing on app stores, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance. Currently, similar fraudulent apps haven't been reported on the Google Play Store, but caution is advised for both iOS and Android users. If an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is.

Larian Studios has not announced any plans for a Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port. However, older Baldur's Gate titles are available on mobile platforms, and Baldur's Gate 3 can be accessed via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
