"The Exit 8: 3D Walking Simulator with Liminal Spaces Now on Android!"

The Exit 8 has arrived on Android, blending elements of suspense and exploration into a unique gaming experience. Developed by Kotake Create and published by Playism, this game is available for $3.99. It's not just another walking simulator; The Exit 8 introduces a chilling twist that challenges players with every step they take.

A Creepy Walking Adventure

In The Exit 8, players navigate through an endless underground passageway reminiscent of a Japanese metro station. The game traps you in a loop where everything from the tiles, lights, and posters to the solitary man walking towards you repeats endlessly. The challenge lies in spotting anomalies—subtle changes like a different graphic on a poster, flickering lights, or even something as stark as a river of blood replacing the floor. The core mechanic revolves around noticing these changes and reacting swiftly.

If you detect something unusual, you must turn back. If not, you continue forward. The objective is to reach the eighth exit without making a mistake, which means correctly identifying and reacting to eight anomalies in a row. Fail to do so, and you'll have to start over.

The Exit 8 Lets You Soak in a Surreal, Unsettling Atmosphere

The game's design draws inspiration from liminal spaces and the concept of the Backrooms, with settings modeled after actual Japanese metro stations like Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in Tokyo. The claustrophobic corridors and repetitive architecture enhance the eerie atmosphere. Players are encouraged to engage deeply with their environment, scrutinizing every detail for signs of danger or shifts in reality. This constant questioning of memory and perception ensures that each playthrough feels distinct.

Initially released for PC in November 2023, it took Kotake Create approximately nine months to develop The Exit 8. Following its launch, the game achieved 1.4 million downloads worldwide on Steam. Now available on mobile, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
