Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessory Collection

Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring four premium accessories: the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld remote player, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. This dark, sophisticated color scheme complements the existing PlayStation 5 lineup.

The collection boasts a consistent price point for three of the items: the DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal, and Pulse Explore earbuds are all priced at $199.99. The Pulse Elite headset is slightly less expensive at $149.99. While the price may seem high, the premium build quality and features justify the cost for many gamers.

Pre-orders for the Midnight Black Collection begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch follows on February 20th, 2025.

The inclusion of a carrying case for both the headset and earbuds (in a contrasting felt gray) adds to the premium feel. The Pulse Elite headset represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Pulse 3D, with a higher price reflecting enhanced features.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its range of themed DualSense controllers. Following the successful releases tied to God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, a limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is also available for pre-order.
