A Decade in the Making
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, marked by significant delays spanning almost a decade. Development began in 2015, following Dragon Age: Inquisition. However, BioWare's focus shifted to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting resource allocation and ultimately halting development (then codenamed "Joplin"). The initial design didn't align with the company's live-service strategy.
The project was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison." Formally announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022, it eventually received its current title.
Despite the challenges, the journey is nearing its end. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this fall. Prepare yourselves, Thedas awaits!
