Following Fire Canyon, Precursor Basin presents a less perilous, yet arguably more challenging, vehicle-based level in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. This guide details how to conquer its tricky objectives. Mastering the Zoomer is crucial for trophy hunters aiming for 100% completion.

Herding Moles: A Simple Start

Begin by gently nudging the moles in Precursor Basin's initial area towards their burrows using the Zoomer. Utilize the Zoomer's hop for sharp turns to keep them corralled. Returning four moles to their holes rewards a Power Cell from the Geologist in Rock Village.

Catching Flying Lurkers

These elusive creatures scatter at the Zoomer's approach. Strategic pursuit, anticipating their turns (as illustrated in the images), is key to intercepting and colliding with them. The final Lurker yields another Power Cell.

Conquering the Gorge Time Trial

Near Precursor Basin's entrance (hug the right wall), lies a challenging racecourse. The goal: beat 45 seconds. Utilize Lurkers for extra height, and strategically collect Blue Eco speed boosts. Avoid Dark Eco Crates by sticking to the center path. Master the 180-degree hop-turn at the pit. A sub-40-second time earns a trophy. Victory rewards a Power Cell from the Gambler.

Securing the Lake Power Cell

Starting from the slope (Image 1), navigate the narrow bridge and utilize hops to traverse the gaps between islands (Images 2-5). A final hop from the bridge leads to the Power Cell.

Dark Eco Plant Remediation

Charge with Green Eco and swiftly drive over the purple plants to cure them before they regrow. Use hops for efficient maneuvering and the Green Eco Vent for replenishment. Completion earns a Power Cell.

Purple Precursor Ring Challenge

This time trial requires navigating a series of rings before time expires. The trickiest parts involve aerial rings; a hop off the bridge (as shown) is necessary for one. Successfully completing the course awards a Power Cell.

Blue Precursor Ring Challenge
