Hot on the heels of its announcement of new game Project C4, ZA/UM has unveiled plans for an official mobile version of the critically acclaimed Disco Elysium, exclusively for Android devices. The studio aims to introduce the game to new players while providing existing fans with a convenient, on-the-go gaming experience. To achieve this, ZA/UM will offer the first two chapters of Disco Elysium for free on mobile, with the option for players to unlock the full game with a one-time payment, ensuring an ad-free experience.

ZA/UM emphasized their commitment to transparency, stating, "We want players to make an informed decision about their potential purchase." The studio, which consists of both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP, is dedicated to delivering a high-quality mobile experience that reflects their dual roles.

Studio head Denis Havel expressed ambitions to engage the TikTok audience with Disco Elysium on mobile, stating, "We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all new, deeply engaging form of entertainment."

Alongside the announcement, ZA/UM released a debut trailer and screenshots for the mobile version, showcasing new 360-degree scenes designed to immerse players in the world of Revachol. The game also features brand new audio with full voiceover to enhance the character-rich experience.

Play

The official description highlights that this mobile version is a re-imagination of the award-winning psychological RPG, optimized for short play sessions to fit into the busy lives of today's mobile users. Narrative Lead Chris Priestman described the experience as "what audiobooks wish they were," designed for brief, engaging play sessions.

Disco Elysium is set to launch on Google Android in the summer of 2025. It's important to note that while the studio name remains the same, many key contributors from the original Disco Elysium team have since left ZA/UM. Some of these former members are now working on spiritual successors to the game.
