Pokémon TCG Pocket's card art has captivated players, but recently discovered details reveal hidden connections to the Game Boy games. Reddit user asch_win initiated the investigation, highlighting Spearow's card art, which subtly depicts Celadon City Department Store from FireRed and LeafGreen, alongside Route 16, Spearow's Kanto habitat.

This intentional referencing of classic Pokémon games wasn't limited to Spearow. User jteede uncovered further connections, including a Diglett card near Vermillion City and a Haunter card positioned by Lavender Town's tower. Asch_win also identified location references within Supporter cards.

Most card illustrations feature fantastical settings, but some, including a Pikachu variant, mirror real-world collectible cards. Others are unique to Pokémon TCG Pocket, making these Easter eggs particularly rewarding to find.

The community's weekend-long investigation unearthed more hidden references. A Gyarados full-art card seemingly includes the S.S. Anne, while Oddish, Venonat, and Bellsprout cards collectively depict a scene reminiscent of the seaside Snorlax encounter in FireRed and LeafGreen.

Since its October release, Pokémon TCG Pocket has received one additional booster expansion, Mythical Island, bringing the total to four. Further expansions are anticipated, along with additional cards via Wonder Pick Events and updates. Players are encouraged to remain vigilant for future references as Creatures Inc. and DeNA continue to expand the card collection.

Meanwhile, the current Wonder Pick event features Charmander and Squirtle, and the ongoing debate about the impact of pack choice remains a topic of discussion.
