The 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' hidden trophy/achievement is intriguing due to its straightforward objective yet elusive nature. It's easy to overlook this achievement if you're not actively seeking it.

To unlock it, you must capture a unique creature known as the **Sandstar** in the **Windward Plains**. This tiny creature, resembling a desert mouse with a long tail and shimmering fur, is only visible at night in a specific part of the region. Given that the Windward Plains are typically explored during the day throughout the story, you'll need to manipulate time to reach nightfall. Here are two effective methods to do so:

  • Fast Travel – Available as soon as you unlock different fast travel points in the Windward Plains. Open your interactive map, access the fast travel menu, and shuttle between points until nightfall.
  • Rest – After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, you can rest at a base or pop-up camp. Use your Guild Points to rest and choose the time of day (Morning, Daytime, Evening, or Nighttime) and environmental conditions (No Change, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclemency).

The Sandstar is not only small but also incredibly swift, even outpacing your Seikret at full sprint. To improve your chances of catching it, gather **Screamer Pods** from **Baunos**, small red-winged scavengers found in groups around **Area 11** and **Area 13**. These pods are not mandatory but significantly simplify the task.

Once it's night in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Area 11 and Area 13 and keep your eyes peeled for the Sandstar. When you spot it, pursue it at top speed and, if you have them, ready your Screamer Pods. When close enough, **shoot a Screamer Pod to stun the Sandstar**.

Quickly switch to your **Capture Net** (used for fishing as well) and throw it at the stunned Sandstar to capture it. This action will unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement and reward you with the **Ribbon Dream: Amber** nameplate for your Hunter Profile.

That wraps up the guide on how to obtain the 'I Caught a Shooting Star' trophy/achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Be sure to explore our other guides for the game, such as how to skip cutscenes, to enhance your gaming experience.
