Call of Duty Leak May Reveal When Verdansk Will Return to Warzone

A recent leak suggests the beloved Verdansk map might make a comeback in Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 3. This news has ignited excitement among fans who fondly remember the original Verdansk, a map integral to Warzone's early success. The leak hints at a strong resemblance to the original, fueling speculation about its return.

The original Verdansk, launched alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, featured iconic locations like City Center, Airport, Boneyard, and the Suburbs. While it later reappeared in Warzone Mobile, its absence from the main console and PC versions left a void. Subsequent maps like Caldera, Al Mazrah, Urzikstan, Vondel, and Verdansk '84 (a Black Ops Cold War-influenced iteration) have filled the gap, but none have fully captured the original's charm. Verdansk '84, while sharing some similarities, lacked key landmarks and offered a distinct aesthetic.

The leak, reported by Charlie Intel, citing user TheGhostofHope, shows a map strongly resembling the original Verdansk. Whether this is datamined Season 3 content or simply a reused image remains unclear. The timing is intriguing, as Season 3 will coincide with Black Ops 6, potentially attracting a larger player base. Black Ops 6, despite its release, has seen a player decline, a trend Season 1 and its Squid Game collaboration failed to significantly reverse.

Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 2 launch January 28th, suggesting a potential 54-day season cycle. Season 3, anticipated for Spring (potentially March), may bring Verdansk's return, but this is purely speculative until confirmed by Activision or Treyarch. Regardless of Verdansk's return, Activision's continued updates to both Black Ops 6 and Warzone promise fresh content for players. Therefore, while the Verdansk leak is exciting, treat it with caution until official confirmation.
