Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil "Avatar: Seven Havens," a new 26-episode animated series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved franchise. Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original series creators, "Seven Havens" follows a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, in a world ravaged by catastrophe.
This 2D animated series depicts a world shattered by a cataclysmic event. The new Avatar is not seen as a savior, but rather as a harbinger of destruction, hunted by both human and spirit foes. Forced to uncover her mysterious origins alongside her long-lost twin, she must protect the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.
DiMartino and Konietzko stated, "Creating the original series, we never envisioned expanding this world decades later. This new Avatarverse chapter is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a captivating new cast."
The series will be structured into two 13-episode seasons (Book 1 and Book 2). Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi join DiMartino and Konietzko as executive producers. Casting details are yet to be revealed.
This marks Avatar Studios' first major television series. They are also producing a feature-length animated film centered on adult Aang, slated for theatrical release on January 30, 2026. The film will follow Aang on a new adventure.
The 20th anniversary celebrations extend beyond "Seven Havens," encompassing a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game.
