Details regarding the upcoming "Claws of Awaji" DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced via a now-removed Steam update, according to Insider Gaming. This first expansion for the feudal Japan-set title promises a significant amount of additional content.

The leak reveals "Claws of Awaji" will introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities, extending gameplay by over 10 hours. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to this DLC and a bonus mission.

This leak follows the recent delay of Assassin's Creed Shadows to March 20, 2025. Originally slated for November 15, 2024, the game's release was first pushed back to February 14, 2025, and then again to its current date. The delays, attributed to polishing and refinement, add to the already turbulent development cycle for the game, which has faced criticism and setbacks since its announcement.
