• GOMOKU Freestyle: The first player to create an unbroken line of five or more stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins.
• CARO (Blocked Rule – Gomoku+): To win, a player must have an unbroken line of five stones that isn't blocked on both ends. Lines like XOOOOOX and OXXXXXO are not winning lines.
• GOMOKU Standard: The first player to achieve an unbroken line of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins. Lines of six or more stones do not constitute a win.
• RENJU: To address the inherent first-player advantage in Gomoku, Renju adds rules restricting Black's (the first player) moves. Black is prohibited from creating:
  • Double threes: Two separate lines of three unbroken black stones.
  • Double fours: Two separate lines of four unbroken black stones.
  • Overlines: Lines of six or more consecutive black stones.
