Button Mapper: Customize Your Hardware Buttons

Button Mapper simplifies remapping your device's hardware buttons (volume, assist buttons, home, back, recent apps, etc.) to launch apps, shortcuts, or custom actions. Whether it's a single, double, or long press, you control the function. The app supports most physical and capacitive keys, extending to gamepads, remotes, and other peripherals.

While root access isn't always necessary, some advanced features require an ADB command from a connected PC or root privileges. Screen-off functionality also depends on root access or an ADB command.

Examples of Remapping:

• Long press: Toggle flashlight, open camera and take a photo, activate "Do Not Disturb" mode.
• Double tap: Launch apps, open notifications.
• Single press: Broadcast custom intents, scripts, or commands.
• Swap: Back and recent apps keys (capacitive only).
• Adjust: Screen brightness using volume buttons.

Pro Version Features:

The pro version unlocks advanced options like simulating keycodes (requires ADB or root), swapping volume keys based on orientation, pocket detection, themes, enhanced button customization, and haptic feedback control.

• Ensure Button Mapper's accessibility service is enabled and background operation is permitted.
• The app doesn't work with onscreen buttons (soft keys, navigation bar), or the power button.
• Available options depend on your device's buttons.

Privacy:

Button Mapper uses accessibility services only to detect button presses for remapping; it does not monitor your typing or collect/share personal information. The Device Administrator permission (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN) is used solely for screen locking when the "Turn screen off" action is selected. It can be removed via the app's uninstall option.
